College Football Preview: No. 18 Florida at No. 23 Tennessee

College Football Preview: No. 18 Florida at No. 23 Tennessee

NEYLAND STADIUM, KNOXVILLE, TENN., 6 P.M. (ESPN)

No. 18 Florida (2-0, 1-0 SEC); No. 23 Tennessee (2-0, 0-0)

WHO SHOULD WIN

Florida?s running game, secondary and special teams might be enough to escape Knoxville with a close victory. Tennessee QB Tyler Bray will have his moments. Coach Derek Dooley is 3-13 in SEC games with the Volunteers.

UNDER THE GUN

Florida tight end Jordan Reed. By now, it?s obvious no UF wide receiver is going to become a consistent playmaker. Reed has that ability, and Tennessee?s defense has had trouble covering the tight end. Reed must become the receiving complement to UF?s solid ground game.

HISTORY LESSON

The team to run for the most yards has won this game in 20 of the past 22 meetings and in each of the past nine. Florida has a seven-game winning streak in the series and leads 22-19.

WHO?S NOT PLAYING

Gators: LB Jelani Jenkins (thumb fracture) and CB Cody Riggs (foot fracture) are out.

BY THE NUMBERS

758: The rushing advantage UF has enjoyed in the past seven meetings against Tennessee. The Gators have run for 1,083 yards, the Vols have managed 325.
